John McCain responds to President Obama's speech on CBS

McCain said of President Obama's speech

...effective and balanced.... expression of hope and confidence... delivery and theme of the speech was excellent..

I didn't get what he was saying about the stimulus that technically it did not have earmarks, but it actually did.

McCain did good balancing the snark in his responses to Katie Couric's questions against the 79% percent CBS snap poll approval rating in favor of President Obama that was taken immediately after the speech.

I never expected the interview to be 'snark free'. That would just be wrong.

It's official. He twitters. Senator McCain is 'technically hip'. I think Couric probably meant to say 'technologically hip'. I just pulled an 'Olbermann' with that observation.

I think Democrats need to take one cue from the Republicans. Loyalty.

Not blind, unquestioning loyalty, but at least the degree of loyalty that says, if you go out and campaign against our candidates, lie about them, slander them, campaign for the other party, then you are not one of us and you certainly can't be afforded the same privileges as other members.

I think this vote to let Lieberman have what Lieberman wants makes the Democrats in the Senate look like a bunch of weenies.

It also makes me wonder what he has on many of them. I'm sure Conservatives are thinking about that too.

Don't believe what you see on television, like for instance John McCain talking to Katie Couric about the surge and 'why' it is working. McCain either doesn't recall history, doesn't remember recent events or he is telling a lie. As I recall, before the surge, Anbar Province was seeing some positive signs as the local population was working together to get Al-Qeada out of the province. Couric did not pin McCain down on this at all.

To the conservatives out there who are saying that Liberals, Progressives, Democrats, or others on the 'Left" want Iraq to fail so that elections can be won I say 'Bull Pucky'! Perhaps there are some who snidely say such things, but I do not want that to happen, and I highly doubt that most politically 'left leaning' folks want that either. To those of you who may get confused by all this garbage you see on television I suggest you stop watching it and read, and remember how we have been strung along and manipulated in the last eight years. Not this time. Not this time!
