Video: Cartoonists.... how do they do what they do?

They have conventions, and then a fellow cartoonist video tapes them, and then they spill their guts. This comes by way of Daryl Cagle's Cartoon Web Log.

Herrrrreeeeeeeeee's Daryl!

Hello everyone. I’m in Seattle right now attending the annual American Association of Editorial Cartoonists (AAEC) convention. We have a lot of work to accomplish, including lots of seminars aimed at helping cartoonists navigate the industry’s rough waters (I’ll be on the panel of a seminar focused on cartoonists’ role in online journalism). But for me, the best part of these conventions is sitting around a bar and catching up with old cartoonist friends.

When real life and politics collide

I had to nab this one posted by Paddy at TPC, in large part due to the fact that I just got off my Big Yellow School Bus after driving a bowling shuttle for a PE class.

I have this bowling shuttle that I drive two days each week. Only having been a driver for a year and one-half, one thing I have remarked upon to myself and a few of the teachers I have driven for is that if I had had some of these PE teachers when I was a kid, I think I would probably have been a stronger person, and a whole lot more interested in sports and exercise. The flip side of that is I might not be bloggin' politics though.

Can't go back, can only go forward so here I am.

At any rate, I give the teachers in our school system a big high five because we've got some really outstanding ones. I don't know if the kids appreciate what they've got, but I sure hope that their parents do.

Great cartoon too!
