Dreams, they say, sometimes become reality. For one Godwin Kemboi, Hillary Clintons visit rekindled fond memories. This is the man who had proposed to have hand of the Clintons daughter, Chelsea, in marriage. But will Chelsea say I do? Well, Hillary was asked that question today.

Clinton expected to be confirmed as Secretary of State prior to inauguration day on January 20th
Some Republicans are expected to confirm the nominee, but not without posing tough questions to Hillary Clinton regarding donors to former President Bill Clinton's foundation.
Donor disclosures to said foundation are expected to be forthcoming on an annual basis.
Donor disclosures to said foundation are expected to be forthcoming on an annual basis.
Clinton is expected to testify before the Foreign Relations Committee on Tuesday, with a committee vote two days later, before the start of a separate confirmation hearing for Susan Rice, President-elect Barack Obama's pick for U.N. ambassador. If approved by the panel, Clinton could be confirmed by the full Senate before Obama takes office on Jan. 20.
In advance of the hearing, Clinton has been reaching out to individual senators through telephone calls and lengthy sit-down meetings, including an hour-long meeting last month with Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, the top Republican on the Foreign Relations Committee.
On Wednesday, Clinton attended the Democrats' weekly policy lunch at the Capitol. She declined to talk with reporters afterward.

The 'Three A.M. Phone Call' may very well (with confirmation) become a reality
Well, well, well. We had the 3 A.M. commercial from Hillary Clinton in the primaries, which was subsequently parodied on Saturday Night Live, and now it appears that the whole dealy bob will be becoming a reality.
That's politics. It is going to be very, very interesting to watch.

RCP: 'The Silly Season Continues' AND 'things like accuracy and solid sourcing are irrelevant'
Good point. We all know it won't stop though.
I guess when it comes down to it, every day is 'Silly Season' when it comes to American politics and the 24/7 news cycle.

The Silly Season Continues

Just how desperate for news is an obsessive political press corps now trying to find its way after one of the biggest elections in history? Exhibit A is the mindless speculation that Hillary Clinton is being considered for Secretary of State, a story that's now been picked up by just about everybody. We don't know where this nugget of information came from or whether it's legitimate, but in today's media environment - especially on matters such as cabinet appointments and the like - things like accuracy and solid sourcing are irrelevant. All we know for sure is that Hillary Clinton is in Chicago today.

Hillary Clinton as Secretary of State and 'Team of Rivals'?
Mike Allen at Politico might be onto something here.
Several Obama transition advisers are strongly advocating Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) for secretary of State, a move that would create the ultimate “Team of Rivals” cabinet, according to officials involved in the discussions.
President-elect Obama has narrowed the possibilities for secretary of State and Clinton is among those being strongly considered, the officials said. Some even call her the favorite. It is not known what Obama himself thinks of the idea.
But the fact that it is being entertained within his camp shows how much things have changed in the months since he defeated her for the Democratic nomination in a protracted primary marathon.
A possible clue to Obama’s willingness to consider Clinton for chief diplomat can be found in a January interview he gave to Katie Couric, anchor and managing editor of the “CBS Evening News.” As part of her “Primary Questions” series, she asked him what books besides the Bible he would considers essential if he were elected president.
“Doris Kearns Goodwin's book ‘Team of Rivals,’” Obama replied. “It was a biography of Lincoln. And she talks about Lincoln's capacity to bring opponents of his and people who have run against him in his cabinet. And he was confident enough to be willing to have these dissenting voices and confident enough to listen to the American people and push them outside of their comfort zone. And I think that part of what I want to do as president is push Americans a little bit outside of their comfort zone. It's a remarkable study in leadership.” read more here

They're saying it's Biden for Obama's VP. I don't know, but it makes this Peon happy just thinking about it.
Is Joe Biden the VP pick? I don't know, but I think he is one of the smartest guys and I can relate to him being from a working class background.
I was born in a 'steel makin' town. I was born in PA. My family migrated to Indiana during the steel mill exodus of the 1960s. We aren't always politically correct. We swear at our televisions and we aren't deeply offended if a politician says a curse word, especially if the words around it have something to do with defending us.
I also believe that Joe Biden knows that working class folks aren't as stupid at the media often paints us. Yeah he's a politician, but I watched Joe Biden on the Foreign Relations Committee with my Senator, Richard Lugar of Indiana. I watched Biden passionately call out the stupidity of the Bush Administration policy on Iraq, over and over and over again, when none of the others had enough balls to say anything, too worried about losing their seats and the politics of the thing. That is when I gained great respect for Joe Biden.
That is also why Joe Biden was my first pick for President of the United States. I knew of Biden's problems in the past, his mouth, his verbosity. I also knew he didn't have a chance in hell.
If Joe is picked as VP I will be happy, although I think he would make a kick ass Secretary of State.
Peace and Love,
PD
