This Peon has gotten behind on politics and the news. The tragedy of MJ was distracting and disturbing.
I was also fortunate to have my beautiful sixteen-year-old daughter with me quite a bit this summer, and hope to see more of her. She went to live with her Daddy about two years ago, when we were going through stuff with my parents at the end of their lives. I am the youngest and the only girl, very close to my parents and so was my daughter. My Mom had Alzheimer's, and after she passed, my Dad lost his remaining marbles and asked ten to twenty times daily where my mother was. Very tough.
So nowadays, my sweet pea and I have about three hours of distance between us. Thank goodness for the Internet.
I feel lucky that my girl actually desires to hang around her old mom. It probably has a lot to do with the fact that we do not cohabit at this time. She's turning out to be a pretty amazing young woman and I am so proud of her.
Sews, I found this one on The White House Blog.
